You guys sound silly, you talk bad about the bengals like it’s not 20 other teams who have not won a Super Bowl .. y’all talk about the cowgirls every day like they’re a Super Bowl team and they have not won since I been born .. the bengals are not as bad as y’all make em to be . Actually they went to the playoffs with Andy dalton 5 str8 times and only recently have they missed because of injuries.. some people should do homework before they start bashing teams

Stephen A Smith's first 10 seconds of this is why I like him he tells it how it is no matter what the situation or who sitting in front of him. Now I can do without all his shenanigans and yelling but he's the most blunt dude at ESPN

Bengals fans, don’t listen to this clown he doesn’t know what he’s talking about most of the time. An NFL team can change as fast as 1 year, look at the 49ers. They said the same thing about the Cardinals and Kyler Murray last year and he’s already helping turn the franchise around. These “experts” have never stepped on a field before and their opinion is worthless. Good luck Cincinnati.

I am shaking my head, because so many franchises have been awful until they got the right quarterback and leader. The Saints were awful for years until Brees came along. The Bengals have been to 6 postseason games in the last 10 years compared to Miami 1 and no one accuses them of being an awful franchise. The O line improved this year in Cinci and with weapons Green, Ross, Mixon could be back in the postseason. It is possible and would be good to see SAS eat his words here.

Mike brown gets paid his cut every year by nfl regardless!. So the less he pays out, the more he makes! Simple math

Btw, buy Short on Bengals over under wins total this season. Them just keep doubling down the following season until they don't cover! No lose over time. That's a guaranteed sound long term investment strategy

Coaching isn't a problem when the franchise won't spend money to build a team that complements the coach and the QB play style.

If the DOLPHINS would be kind enough to give their 3, 1st round picks for the No 1 pick => the Bengals should JUMP AT THEIR GOOD FORTUNE. If the BENGALS don't take a QB until at least the 4th round......they could easily DRAFT their way to success. Maybe Shea Patterson in the 4th or 5th round. But become RELEVANT with a really great draft. They could go from 1 win to 5 to 9 or 10 in just 2 years. A Thomas or J Willis with the 5th pick. J Jeudy or CD Lamb with the Dolphins next pick and get an EDGE like T Lewis or Y G-M with the fins last pick in the 1st round......this will help turn things around quickly OL again in the 2nd round. D-Line in the 3rd. Bargain QB in the 4th or 5th.

So some people just think certain teams should be bad. No chance to improve through the draft. Isn't Stephen A a Steelers fan. Makes sense. Also the Bengals work with the same salary cap every other team works with. They pay their players, they just aren't super active in free agency. Look. I get it. Mike brown is not the best owner in the NFL. But this stuff is getting ridiculous. Claiming Cincinnati underpays their players. Then why do they resign. Shut the f up dude. Your bias is showing. Meanwhile the Patriots actively ask players to take pay cuts for the greater glory, and have shown time and time again they have no loyalty to their players. But they are the ideal organization. Mmmk. Weren't the Patriots the laughing stock of the NFL before bledsoe and Brady. Weren't the saints the aints before drew Brees. It's hard to win titles without a top 5 qb. Now presumptively the Bengals have a shot at a qb who some people think is going to be great, and they shouldn't be able to draft him because they're the Bengals. Peyton Manning built Lucas oil stadium and brought the colts into relevancy. Now it could be the Bengals time and no one wants that. Joe burrow has a big enough chip on his shoulder. But as a Bengals fan... Keep going. He will be drafted here. He will play here. And I'm betting that chips getting bigger by the day. Ohio vs the world baby. F"** all yall

  • DDatta

They're right about the owner and the possibility of Burrow not reaching the heights he would elsewhere, but even with all the poison Burrow would still likely make Cincinnati relevant. And it has happened before. Cincinnati has been to 2 Super Bowls and during the 2nd one (88-89 season) I still recall a tv interview involving the senior Brown where he was almost boasting about how he didn't have to give up the bank to build a successful team - at the time the reporter was curious about how the Bengals were able to build such a successful team even though they had the league's lowest payroll. Bottom line: with weapons such as Mixon, AJG, Eifert, Ross and Boyd available and provided the OLine is able to keep Burrow injury free Cincinnati should have a decent shot at making the playoffs again over a 3 year run.

Cincinnati is 29th defense, 24th in sacks allowed, and 25th in rushing, bringing in an overrated quarterback is not going to fix anything. Have fun going 5-11.

Cincinnati built a winning team around Dalton and went to the playoffs 5 straight years. Cincinnati built a winning team around Carson Palmer and went to the playoffs 3 years out of 7. Burrow can put it over the top.

I agree with Stephen A. We don't need a great quarter back like burrow here. I'm a Cincinnati native and if Mike brown won't pay I wouldn't play. But for Stephen A too say we got the Bearcats and you have to travel to Louisville KY, make it make sense. We won our bowl game an the college basketball is good.

  • Jeff Mills

Steven A cant stand it because he is a Steelers fan. What makes football the number one sport in the world is that bad teams can improve with the draft. If it didn’t work this way it would turn into baseball where only a few teams can compete.
